Please join us in person for the first PTC meeting of the year, tonight, Wednesday, September 7 at 7 p.m. in the Marie Murphy Joseph M. Porto Community Room. If you have or will pay your PTC dues, you'll be able to obtain your magnet at tonight's meeting!
Now Accepting 2022-203 Innovation Grants Applications
There are two windows in which to submit a grant proposal for the 2022-23 school year:
October 7, 2022, and February 17, 2023. Proposals can be submitted at any time before either deadline.
Applicants will be notified as follows:
October 7 applications will be notified by November 9, 2022
February 17 applications will be notified by March 9, 2023

Silent Auction Committee
Did you know that last year the Silent Auction Committee raised almost $30,000 for the school PTC? Sign up for this spectacular group, which raises funds for purchasing educational supplies and school equipment, and supports school events for Avoca West and Marie Murphy. We need several fearless volunteers to work together with the PTC President and our Director of Fundraising to secure donations from local businesses. This is a great opportunity to get to know the Avoca community and local business owners. No past fundraising experience is needed! PTC Membership Dues
Thanks to everyone who already paid their dues! We are still collecting membership dues which are $25 per family. Your child can drop off cash or check at the school's front office. If you prefer to pay by credit card or PayPal, click here.
Membership dues help pay for community-building events such as the upcoming Ice Cream Social! Download the Membership Toolkit App to access the directory on your phone, which is available to all dues-paying members. The app also gives you easy access to anything else we have coming up. Magnets will be provided at tonight's PTC meeting, so come and attend the first meeting of the year!
Avoca West Choirs
The Avoca West Choirs are beginning soon! Here is information about the two ensembles available this year. If you have a second through fifth grader who was in the Thursday morning choir last year (Gioso), they may be able to participate in the Concert Choir. Please contact Ms. Weismehl at [email protected] if you are not sure which ensemble would be best to sign up for. Gioso is not being offered this year. If you have already filled out a form you are all set!
Substitute Teaching at Avoca
Avoca is always looking for individuals to join our talented and professional cohort of substitute teachers! If you or someone you know is ready to share a passion for learning, spark curiosity and make a difference every day, please submit an online application. All applicants must hold a valid Illinois license and be registered in North Cook Region 5. Pay rates have also increased for the 2022-2023 school year. Questions? Pay Your Marie Murphy Room Fees Online
Each year, winter holiday and end-of-year gifts are provided to teachers, staff, bus drivers, and facilities staff on behalf of all MM students and families. The funds from these room fees are used to show appreciation for our MM team. We suggest a $25 donation for each child you have at Marie Murphy. To make a payment, register or log in to your account at the Membership Toolkit. Once you are logged in, use the left sidebar menu to navigate to "Marie Murphy" and pay your fees. The Business Office is still collecting 2022-2023 school fees. If you have not already paid, please do so as soon as possible. Links for fee information, fee forms, and financial assistance are below.
You can pay online at the Avoca Webstore (3.56% processing fee), cash, or via check payable to Avoca School District 37 (include in the memo the fees for which you are paying).
