The Avoca Food Service Committee has created a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) sheet for your reference on Avoca's food service program.  Please click here to review it.  A survey will be sent later this month to give you the opportunity to share feedback on Avoca's food service program.  Thanks in advance for your time and input.

As you may have noticed, Avoca Center, the building on the west side of the MM parking lot, is being razed. The site is currently blocked off with fencing and barricades in order to ensure student and public safety.  As the work moves from the interior of the building to the exterior, we are asking all families and students to be extra careful, especially those students who walk to and from school on Illinois Road west of Marie Murphy. Heavy machinery will be entering and exiting the site frequently, and while entrance and exit to the work site is not supposed to take place during our pick up and drop off periods, there is potential for traffic to be impacted.  We appreciate your vigilance and patience!

Grand Rounds: “Parenting in the Age of Inequality: Is Intensive, Achievement-oriented Parenting a Rational Response to a Changing Parenting a Rational Response to a Changing World?

When: Wednesday, February 12, 2020, 9-10:30 AM at New Trier High School, Northfield Campus, Cornog Auditorium, 7 Happ Rd., Northfield, IL 60093.

In the last few decades, American parenting has transformed from being relaxed and laissez-faire into a frantic, overscheduled  activity. In this talk, economist Matthias Doepke, Ph.D. argues that this change, rather than being a form of collective madness, represents  a  broadly  rational  response  of  parents to a changed economic environment. The main culprit is rising economic inequality.
