Help the 6th and 7th graders celebrate the end of the school year as they enjoy pizza and bouncy houses on the last day of school (June 10) from 12:30-3:20 p.m.! CommunIDEE
CommunIDEE will meet tonight, June 1 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Avoca West ITC to discuss program options and ideas for next year. If you have questions, want more information, or if you cannot attend but have ideas, please email Ami Das at [email protected]
PTC Annual Year-End Picnic
The PTC is throwing an outdoor picnic* to celebrate the end of the school year! Pizza will be provided for all students, staff, and volunteers. Please contact Melanie Morrow or your class parents ([email protected]) if your child has any dietary restrictions (i.e. gluten-free or vegan). Feel free to bring large picnic blankets if you have them.
All kids will go back to their classrooms and end the school year with their teachers and classmates.
There will be a regular 3:00 p.m. pickup at the end of the day.
Thank you to those that have volunteered to help with the pizza. Please be on the lookout for room parent emails for class-specific volunteer opportunities. We politely request that only volunteers attend the picnic. We hope to resume in-person events for community building in the upcoming year.
*In case of rain, we will be indoors and those details will be shared closer to the actual event.
ADL Parents Night Out
Please join parents and caregivers on Thursday, June 2 from 7-9 p.m. at Stormy's Tavern & Grille as we gather to bid farewell our group’s co-founder Louise Dechovitz. Please RSVP to Helen at 312-550-2077 by text.
8th Grade Parents
Graduation is around the corner! Here are some key dates and friendly reminders:
- Any in-kind donations for the Pool Party and the Graduation Party are due TODAY!
- If you have not turned in the Pool Release form (due 5/31), please do so
- June 2: Pool Party at Centennial (Raindate: June 6) during school hours
- June 3: Graduation Party for 8th Graders at Marie Murphy from 7:00-10:30 p.m.
- June 7: Graduation! Students should arrive at the New Trier Northfield Campus at 6:15 p.m. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Ceremony starts promptly at 7:00 p.m.
- A brief reception will be held following the ceremony.

Marie Murphy Sale Notes: 6th-grade packs include a regular calculator; 7th and 8th do not, if you cannot reuse yours, the school will sell you one for a nominal fee. All packs include inexpensive headphones. Art packs are sold separately.
Please review the lists online in addition to ordering your packs. Every school supply your child will need in the fall will be taken care of and will be waiting in the classroom on their first day of school!
Outdoor BBQ Party for 7th & 8th Graders
Stuart Weisberg (father of Orion & Arielle) is inviting all interested 7th and 8th-grade families and interested staff to join them on June 4, 2022, at the Blue Star Shelter 1 in Harms Woods. There will be grill space, lawn games, and music! For more details about campsite amenities, space, and what to bring, please email Stuart at [email protected].
