In Theatre class, students are presented with classroom instruction, experiential exercises, and performance application projects in many of the modalities of the theatre arts. Curricular themes include voice training, acting styles, movement, improvisation, theatre history, and scripted performance experience.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:  The student will be able to:

1.  Understand and apply the elements and processes involved in creation of various theatrical art forms.
2.  Contribute to and invest in the creation of a trusted classroom community.
3.  Create, rehearse, evaluate, and perform improvised and scripted dramatic performances.
4.  Broaden critical thinking skills, including accurate self-reflection.
5.  Demonstrate active, effective listening skills and audience behavior.
6.  Develop an understanding of the influence of the dramatic arts on society and vice versa.
