Hello My Name Is...
Mrs. Carpenter
[email protected]
While I have been teaching for more than twenty years in the surrounding communities, this is my first year as a Learning Behavior Specialist at Avoca West. It has been a warm welcome from the whole school community and I could not be more grateful to be a part of your learning community as we strive to prepare students according to the mission of the “Portrait of a Graduate.” My formal education was earned at Purdue University where I earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education and Special Education. My experience with educating students has ranged from preschool students through high school students in general education settings as well as special education settings. I look forward to helping students at Avoca West achieve their goals through opportunities within the general education setting as well as in smaller environments. I will provide students support in reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and social emotional needs.
When I am not teaching, my family keeps me active! My three children have been active in sports and other activities for many years! Two of my children graduated from New Trier and are off at college, and my youngest is currently a New Trier student. They have kept us busy cheering from the sidelines of courts and fields for many seasons. I look forward to their next steps in their educational journeys.
Thank you for the warm welcome into the Avoca West learning community. I look forward to helping the community of Avoca West: “Inspire Curiosity. Cultivate Academic Growth. Nurture Diversity”.
