About Me:
I have been teaching at Avoca West since 2017 and I love it! Prior to coming to Avoca West I taught third grade in Chicago for eight years. I grew up in Wilmette and returned home after graduating from the University of Colorado with BA in psychology and dance. I completed my Mater's degree in Elementary Education and Social Policy at Northwestern. When not at school I am busy cooking, gardening, and keeping up with my own four kiddos!
Statement of Philosophy:
My teaching philosophy is that students learn the best when they are in a positive learning environment where they feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe with each other. Each student brings their own particular brand of genius to the classroom, and my most important job is to discover and empower that genius.
