Intercultural Dinner & Talent Show Recap
Over 20 countries were represented at the district's largest, most diverse community-building event, Intercultural Night. Roughly 500 staff, students, families, and community members registered for the event. Attendees enjoyed food from around the globe and a talent show showcasing students' equally-diverse talents.
Thank you to all who attended and made this event possible, including our custodial and maintenance crew, Tim Furman, the PTC, CommunIDEE, the IDATS Planning Committee, Go Green Wilmette, and Collective Resources of Evanston. Also, to our sponsors Byline Bank, Right at School, Xilin Northshore Chinese School, Torino Ramen, and Galileo.

Intercultural Night Goes Green
D37's Green Committee partnered with the Intercultural Night team with the goal to create a low-waste event. The event used compostable supplies, such as forks, paper plates, cups, and napkins, and the “one plate, one fork” policy also made a very big difference. Non-profit organization Go Green Wilmette (GGW) contributed to the effort and recruited multiple volunteers, including 2 NTHS students, to help all guests compost their food scraps. Collective Resources of Evanston was contracted for the pick up of collection containers filled with over 150 pounds of food scraps and other compostable materials, which were successfully diverted from the landfill. GGW also helped recycle all of the clean aluminum food trays. Most importantly, we were able to introduce many community members to the concept of food scrap collection and composting, and we hope to continue this waste reduction effort in the future.
Pay Your Marie Murphy Room Fees Online
It's that time of the year when we say thank you to our teachers, staff, bus drivers, and facilities staff on behalf of all MM students and families. We are still collecting funds for room fees to purchase winter gifts for our MM team. We suggest a $25 donation for each child you have at Marie Murphy. Please use this link to contribute: Marie Murphy Room Fees.
