Marie Murphy Science Olympiad takes 6th Place at Nationals
We're proud to announce the varsity Science Olympiad Team earned 6th place in the United States this weekend at the National Science Olympiad Competition. They finished ahead of 94 other teams. Congrats to all of our students, our staff coaches Jim Gravagna, Darren Persino, and Joyce Kim, and our army of parent/guardian coaches and volunteers. It truly is a collective effort and one that should make our whole community proud.

Marie Murphy End-of-Year Party
Help the 6th and 7th graders celebrate the end of the school year on Tuesday, June 13! We need parent volunteers to help the teachers support party activities, serve lunch, and clean up. We also kindly request snack donations. All items can either be dropped off at the school on Monday, June 12 by 3 p.m. or at Mrs. Kundu's residence before Monday. Click here for more details or to volunteer.
Avoca West Field Day
Enjoy one of the last days of the school year outdoors with the Avoca students (K-5th Grade) at the 2023 Avoca West Field Day! Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 8 with a rain date of Monday, June 12. We are asking parent volunteers to help organize and monitor the various activities, games, and races that have been set up by the teachers and administration. For more event details or to sign up to volunteer, click here.

5th Grade Parent Night

8th Grade Service Project
Thank you to all of our wonderful 8th Grade students, parent chaperones, and teachers for their hard work at the recent service event at Feed My Starving Children. We put together meals for over 184 children in the country of Chad. We are so proud of the group for making a difference together in their community and across the world, so others can have a chance at life. Special thanks to event Co-Chairs Lina Patel and Jessica LeFebvre for planning this meaningful experience for the class.

Summer School Bus for Avoca Students
If your child is registered for the Summer Enrichment Program 2023 and needs to ride the Avoca bus for transportation to and from class, please contact Dawn Scaramuzza in the Student Services Office to request the form. Paper copies are also available in the Front Office of both schools. Once the form is completed, send it back to Dawn Scaramuzza by May 31. Should you have any questions, please contact Dawn at [email protected] or call 847-728-4142.

2023-2024 School Supplies
SHOP NOW for your 2023-24 school supplies. Avoid the stores and get all your school supply shopping done online. EPI school supply packs contain all the items and brands our teachers require. Not only is this convenient for you, but it is a fundraiser to help our school. Order now with our School ID of AVO021 or MUR066 HERE

Be sure to order for the grade your child is entering next year. Parents new to Marie Murphy: you must review School Supply Lists for extra items not included in the grade-level packs like gym uniforms, art packs (sold separately) calculators for advanced math and 8th grade, and resource supplies.

Please contact your school coordinator with questions:

2023-24 Bus Fees
Bus fees are being collected for the 2023-24 school year. We encourage families to pay by June 30 to take advantage of the lower fee amount. Existing families that have not registered and paid either in full or made a partial payment by July 28 will not be able to add bus service until September 11. This will allow us to finalize bus routes by August 10, 2023, and upload them into PowerSchool by August 17. For rates and more information, visit our Transportation webpage here

Returning Student Registration Deadline Approaching
Student Registration for Returning Students is open through May 30. If you have not yet registered for the 2023-2024 school year, please do so by referencing the email sent to you from Registration Support ([email protected]). Please email [email protected] if you did not receive the email or if you have any questions. Each email contains a unique Snapcode Link which is specific to each child. For more information about Returning Student Registration, visit our webpage here. NOTE: Incoming 3rd- and 6th-grade students must again provide the district with three Proofs of Residency.
