MM Spring Play

The Marie Murphy Spring Play, Still Life With Iris, is a fantastical adventure through the eyes of a young girl who is taken from all that is familiar and must navigate her way back home with the help of a few notable characters. It's a heartfelt drama that is sure to please all ages and audiences. The evening performance on Friday, April 26, starts at 7:30 PM in the Marie Murphy MPR and is free general admission. Doors open at 7:10 PM.

Volunteer Appreciation Week: April 21-27
This week marks Volunteer Appreciation Week, and we are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated volunteers at Avoca. Last Friday, we had the pleasure of celebrating and expressing our gratitude to the parents who generously donate their time, skills, and passion to enrich our school community. We hosted a special Volunteer Appreciation breakfast to honor these remarkable individuals and recognize their immense impact on our students, teachers, and overall school experience. Their contributions are invaluable, and we are deeply grateful for their support and commitment. There are several volunteer opportunities through the end of the school year, and we will continue to acknowledge and appreciate these individuals in other ways.

2024-2025 Returning Student Registration Due Soon
Registration for the 2024-2025 opened on April 15. If you haven't received the registration email or have any questions, please email [email protected]. Each returning student will receive a separate email containing an embedded "snapcode" which is unique to that student. Please complete registration by May 30, 2024

Similar to last year, Pre-K students enrolled at Avoca Community Preschool will not receive a returning student registration link. If your child is transitioning to kindergarten at Avoca West, you will receive a new student registration link once we have received all required pre-registration documents.

School Book Fairs
Book Fairs are coming to Avoca West and Marie Murphy! We need volunteers to help make them successful. For both events, we kindly ask that parent volunteers not bring their children because volunteers will be moving heavy boxes and tables. Proceeds benefit the libraries and PTC. Thank you in advance for volunteering!

  • Avoca West Book Fair (May 13-17) - Volunteers are needed to help set up on May 10 and assist students with purchasing books. Sign up to Volunteer Here

We are also requesting donations for children's snacks. All items can be dropped off at the school on Wednesday, June 5, by 3 p.m. Email [email protected] for more information.
