About Me
Jessica Bodzewski is the sixth grade learning resource teacher. She joined the Avoca School District in 2005. She received her undergraduate degree in special education from Western Illinois University and her Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction from St. Xavier. She coaches the JV soccer team. She is passionate about helping each child reach their fullest potential.

In Resource, students work, in a small group setting, with their case manager to develop strategies
related to goals and objectives identified in their Individualized Education Plans (IEP). The case manager provides academic support to students on their caseload in a nurturing environment, oversees the IEP, and collaborates with parents, general and special education teachers, as well as other service providers. Resource focuses on skill building through researched based practices. These areas can include reading, writing, math, executive functioning, and related services. Through time spent in Resource, students are able to learn and reinforce behaviors essential to success in the classroom, school, and beyond.
