Event Security
In the past and this year, there were inquiries if it was appropriate to have support from local law enforcement at such a large event, the largest we have at our schools during the year. The District and the Wilmette Police Department have a long successful partnership in keeping our schools safe, and Dr. Osburn has consulted with Chief Murphy. As a result, we will have a Wilmette Police Officer present at the entrance to Marie Murphy for the duration of the event and available at a moment's notice. No threats have been made against the school and there are no security alerts that make this necessary, but our partnership makes it possible to have this additional layer of security on such an important evening for our community.
